Awaken Your Jungle Siren

an 8 day paddling retreat in Costa Rica for not-so-serious paddlers
with Jungle Flow Expeditions

January 18-25, 2026
We’ll enter the journey together in Costa Rica, release our social norms and create our own. Think - daily barefoot dancing, skinny dipping in lagoons, and a deep presence at a slower pace that feels like you're high even when you're sober.

This is NOT your average instruction-based trip.

Picture this.
You hop off the plane in San Jose, we meet in the airport.
I'm jumping for joy, you're running off the runway for a hug!
We're immediately whisked away into the jungle with our squad of playful, quirky, powerhouse women who are all a little jittery because we know our lives are about to SHIFT.

Here's our tentative itinerary.
(ps. this trip is open to all ages and skill levels. We'll have access to
rafts and inflatable kayaks if you're not comfortable hard boating)

DAY 1:
Arrive in San José and journey to the lush valley of Turrialba.
Gather for a welcome dinner, meet your siren sisters, and settle into the flow.

DAY 2:
Morning boat outfitting and two playful descents on the friendly Pejibaye River. Feel the water, connect with your boat, and tune into our Costa Rican River team. Riverside lunch, reflections, and an evening circle with Feminine Adventure Coach, Becca Ploener.

DAY 3:
Glide through the wild beauty of the Class III Bajo Pacuare, surrounded by jungle walls and rushing water. Savor lunch by the river.
DAY 4:
Conclude with private evening sessions with Becca to deepen your confidence and flow.Awaken your senses with a canyoning journey—waterfalls, thrills, and jungle magic. Relax in the afternoon and feel the local vibe of Turrialba.
DAY 5:
Begin the overnight Pacuare adventure - paddle deep into the heart of the jungle. Sleep in the surroundings of nature, in fully equipped bungalows, lulled by the sound of the river.

DAY 6:
Start the day with morning yoga to ground and energize (and Costa Rican coffee of course), followed by your final paddle out of Pacuare’s wild embrace. Travel to the serene Laguna Lancaster, perform a cacao ceremony and dance into the evening overlooking the valley.
DAY 7:
A morning of giving back with an eco friendly service project, then empowering your feminine side with an optional skinny dip or swim, paddle board in a private lake. Return to San José in the evening, full of wild memories.
DAY 8:
Farewell flight from San José, with your new siren identity awakened and alive and life-long, global connections.

This trip is NOT exclusively about paddling.
Our focus is
PLEASURE
PLAY
PRESENCE.

This is beyond a whitewater instruction retreat.
It's a full on portal into a new identity for yourself.
A place to meet her.
A place to explore her.
A place to "practice" BEING her.

This trip is designed to support your needs instead of suppressing them in GO GO GO. Expect a slower pace emphasizing abundance and presence.

AND

This trip will be sponsoring a few local, Costa Rican women to join us both on the river and in our pre/post trip coaching calls. The female paddling scene in many parts of Latin America is still emerging, so we'll be uplifting the local ladies too - supporting a growing movement for women to discover their place within adventure sports.

"Si eres una paddler costarricense y estás interesada en unirte a nosotros, ¡me encantaría conectar contigo! Aunque no hablo mucho español, ¡Kayla de Jungle Flow sí lo habla! Puedes contactarnos en inglés o en español a becca@wildwomanbecca.com para obtener más información sobre el patrocinio."

AND

This journey weaves in sustainable experiences, from eco-conscious lodging and meals to learning and supporting conservation efforts. This trip is designed to ground your nervous system including deep nourishment and recovery, because the source of your feminine power relies on it. We also strive to leave a positive impact on the land and the people we share it with.

Together, they offer unforgettable whitewater, canyoneering, and eco-adventures with a focus on safety, community, and sustainability. Jungle Flow is all about connecting people to nature, empowering others through adventure, and inspiring everyone to find their own flow.

Jungle Flow Expeditions is a Costa Rican adventure company co-founded by paddling friends Manuel Fallas Calvo, a local river and travel guide with over 14 years of experience, (him and his wife are expecting a baby girl in September!) and Kayla Angstadt, one of the only active female kayakers that guides, competes, and lives full time in Costa Rica for over 10 years. She has been guiding rivers around the world since 2008, an EMT for over 12 years, a guide training instructor for 5 years, and an EMT for over 12 years. Kayla is also the only female ACA Swiftwater Rescue Instructor, kayak instructor, and whitewater kayak tours founder in the country... what what!
